Pot Roast

Prep. Time: 20 minutes Cooking Time: 6–8 hours Ideal slow-cooker size: 3- to 5-qt.
Needed at Time of Preparation:
2½-lb. beef roast
2 Tbsp. steak sauce *make sure yours is gluten-free to keep this recipe gluten-free
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
6-oz. can tomato paste
1 cup ketchup
2 tsp. honey
¼ tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. horseradish
Preparation Instructions:

  1. In a gallon-sized freezer bag, place the beef roast and all the marinade ingredients in the order listed at left.
  2. Seal the bag and massage or turn over several times until thoroughly mixed. Remove as much air as possible.
  3. Label bag with the information below, then freeze.

    potatoes and baby carrots, optional

Instructions:

  1. Thaw bag completely for 24–48 hours or more
  2. Empty contents of bag into the crock. Add potatoes and baby carrots if desired.
  3. Cover and cook 6–8 hours on Low.
